Program Description

Aims:
� Certification for research projects in economic and social history (doctoral dissertation)
� High-level, multipurpose training for a career in the public or private sector
� If desired, preparation for secondary-school instruction (Master in Economic and Social History, Human Geography Specialist).
Contents:
� Reflexions on current research topics in economic and social history
� Courses and seminars in international economic history, history of the Third World, history of business, history of innovation and technological development, history of populations, social history
� Analytical and technical tools borrowed from other social-science disciplines (economics, econometrics, management, sociology, political science, geography)
� Master�s thesis (original archival research)

Minimum prerequisite degree: � Bachelor or Master in Economic and Social History or degree considered equivalent (or a minimum 60 credits in the various fields of the discipline) � Bachelor or Master in another field and successful completion of a reorientation course worth between 30 and 60 credits
