Master in Development Studies (MDev)
Program Description
The Master in Development Studies is aimed at providing people with varied scientific backgrounds (social, natural and engineering sciences) and of various types of professional experience, advanced graduate training in order to deal with development issues in an interdisciplinary perspective.
The first term of this two-year programme comprises core modules with courses aiming at upgrading knowledge in anthropology, economics, political sociology and ecology. Students also acquire additional tools in methodology and international development cooperation. The second term proposes accompanying seminars to develop the thematic option, notably through case studies. The third term offers seminars aimed at furthering knowledge in areas linked to the thematic options or providing original complements. The fourth term is dedicated to completing the Master’s thesis.
Teaching is mainly in French.

- If an application for the Master in Development Studies is to be taken into consideration, the student must hold: - a Bachelor’s degree – or a diploma deemed equivalent – in social sciences or Humanities ; - a Bachelor’s degree in development studies.
- Application Process
- The complete application file must reach the Admissions Office by 15 January 2010.
Admission is decided by a commission on the basis of the candidate’s application file, his academic results, motivation and work experience, provided that this is relevant.
