Program Description

Provides advanced knowledge of Swiss law in the areas of health, pharmaceuticals and intellectual property rights applicable to technology (patents).
Provides sound knowledge of international law in these areas.
Offers an overview of comparative health and intellectual property law.
Introduces the principles of bio-ethics.
For students without previous legal training: develops general skills in legal argumentation.
For students without previous academic training: provides basic instruction in biology and medicine as an aid to grasping the legal principles elaborated in the other courses.
Obligatory courses; optional courses; obligatory thesis; optional internship.

Conditions for admission to the master programme as well as regulations and academic schedule are available at www.unige.ch/droit/mdv. The programme is open to holders of degrees from the Faculty of Law as well as to those with a master�s or bachelor�s degree from the Faculties of Economics and Social Sciences, Medicine or Psychology. Additional conditions apply to the admission of holders of a master�s or bachelor�s degree from another faculty.
