IMI University Centre - International Hotel and Tourism Management School

The reputation of IMI has been recognized... by selection to participate in the operation of the House of Switzerland at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

DAILY OLYMPIA update! Follow up on citizen journalist IMI's Gavin Caldwell with daily stories from and around the official assignment of IMI students to represent Switzerland during the China Olympics.

IMI is a leading Swiss hotel school teaching tourism, hospitality, events management and culinary arts. Available programmes range from Certificate through to Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration. The syllabus allows students to combine specific areas of study interest to form a programme best suited to their career intentions. The medium of instruction is English.

Teaching is delivered by highly qualified and experienced staff using a combination of computer-based, experiential and classroom instructional modes. Emphasis is on student-centred learning using a variety of methods to enhance the learning experience. The School follows the Swiss tradition of interspersing classroom instruction with periods of paid training in the hospitality industry.

IMI is an expression of a philosophy based squarely on personality and individuality. IMI is a touch more personal and that is precisely the reason why it has become a magnet for students from different continents. Its relatively small intake of students ensures that all students receive highly personalized and individual attention. The main programme areas are:

* Tourism
* Event management
* Hospitality management
* Culinary arts

The added value we give to all internal stakeholders We have an unyielding commitment to students, to ensure they receive all opportunities for personal development through the systematic medium of personal development planning.
We are further committed to all staff to ensure they receive proper training, appraisal and development opportunities for advancing their job-related education, knowledge and understanding.
The individual treatment we give to every student A semester intake of maximum 200 students is maintained to facilitate class sizes supportive of participative learning.
Mechanisms are in place to optimize the treatment of students as individuals through a personal counselling scheme, accessibility of staff, and through defined, publicized and transparent procedures.
Our friendly and professional dealings with all clients and stakeholders We value an atmosphere of mutual self-respect and understanding among our international clients and stakeholders.
We encourage regular feedback and participation in the governance of our Institute in our commitment to continual improvement
